History

Established by producer Oliver Damian in 2005, we are an independent production house focusing on financing and producing commercially as well as culturally attractive feature films for the global market. Due to our experience in the international film sector, 27 FILMS PRODUCTION has strong links to well-known producers and filmmakers all over Europe. Managing director Oliver Damian is a member of several European producer’s associations.

27 FILMS PRODUCTION recently completed the fabulous tragycomedy "The Rainbowmaker" shot by Georgian director Nana Djordjadze (Academy Awards nomination for "A Chef in Love") with Merab Ninidze, Anja Antonowicz and Chulpan Khamatova in leading roles. “The Rainbowmaker” premiered at the Hof International Film Festival and is currently travelling the international festival circuit.

Besides being main producer for a slate of currently eight projects 27 FILMS PRODUCTION also takes part as minor co-producer in international film productions such as the French-German dramas "Dawn of the World" by Iraqi director Abbas Fahdel (with ADR Productions) and "The Father of my Children" by Mia Hansen-Løve (with Les Films Pelléas). “Dawn of the World” had its international premiere in October 2008 in Pusan. It won the competition of the Gulf Film Festival as well as the Audience and the NETPAC award at the Vesoul festival of Asian cinema. “The Father of my Children” had its premiere within the programme section Un certain regard at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Special Prize Un Certain Regard. 27 FILMS PRODUCTIONS also joined Blind Spot Pictures Oy (Helsinki) in developing the hilarious sci-fi-comedy "Iron Sky" invented by cult film director Timo Vuorensola (Star Wreck).
